Gioteck Ex-06 Wireless Headset

Following on from our review of the Gioteck EX-05s headset the kind people at Gioteck have sent us a Wireless EX-06 headset to give our thoughts on.

The EX-06 headset is a multifunction headset (it is worth noting it is also available as a limited edition PS4 only headset)  So it works on the Playstation 3 and 4, along with the Xbox 360, PC and Mac. The EX-06 is presented in a hard case which makes storage simple.

Key Features

  • Delivers crisp, clear audio and surround sound effect to create an immersive gaming experience.
  • Designed with superior materials to create the perfect fit that stays comfortable throughout long gaming sessions.
  • The adjustable microphone allows you to find the perfect position to maximise voice clarity.
  • The fold-up design allows for easy and simple storage.
  • Compatible with PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PC and Mac.

Having rarely used Wireless headsets before for gaming I was a little apprehensive as the last one I used was terrible and just gave me a migraine, the EX-06 however has been superb. Connecting to the PS4 is as simple as plugging in the USB wireless receiver and connecting the cable from the headset to the controller for chat purposes.

The audio controls for the headset are underneath of each speaker which for some reason took me a little time to get used to, In all honesty I think that says more about me moving over from a wired headset to a wireless headset than it does the EX-06 as I’m sure people who are used to wireless headsets will find them very easy to use. You can also use virtual surround sound button on the headset to boost your audio experience. I have used the headset with my PC aswell as both all 3 consoles and everyone says that the quality of the microphone is fantastic. It has made using Skype from my computer so much easier and obviously means there is no lengthy cable sitting around the house.

I have already invested in a second set of the EX-06 and keep one permanently connected to my computer and one for gaming. As a premium quality headset Gioteck have outdone themselves with the EX-06 and to include a hard case with it shows they are invested into providing high quality products at affordable prices. For me the EX-06 ranks up there with the best headsets I have tried with fantastic sound quality. The headset runs on a built in rechargeable battery which takes around 4 hours to fully charge and will give around 8-10 hours on a full charge.
