Gioteck HC4 Review

I was grateful just before Christmas to receive a brand new headset from the team at Gioteck the new headset is compatible with Playstation 4, Xbox One (with the Microsoft Stereo Headset Adaptor – Not included) and the PC

I have long been a fan of Gioteck headsets, however there has always been one little irritating feature on them that I wish wasn’t there. This has always been down to the length of the USB cable which for my needs is ridiculously too long. However the headsets have always worked very well.

I was interested when the news started to come through regarding the HC4 because that annoying USB cable was gone…this as you can imagine immediately perked my interest and then came the video. What I saw was an extremely well manufactured headset which for console gamers is going to be just a godsend.

Just a single cable which plugs directly into the Dualshock 4 controller or via the Microsoft Stereo Headset adapter will work with the Xbox One. The headset itself states “up to 8 hours continuous gaming without interruption”

A bold claim from most headsets however I am pleased to say that for me it has lived up to its end of the bargain. There is a small usb charging port on the headset itself, which you will be pleased to hear is exactly the same connection as the Dualshock 4 controller however it does come with USB cable to charge.

I spend a lot of my time when I am gaming chatting with friends so I wanted a headset that sounded great but also one that didn’t sound like I was sat at the bottom of the ocean.

Some of the quotes that I have had about the Microphone is that it is the clearest that they have heard on the PS4, Excellent quality and people have even asked where can they get the headset.!

The sound quality from the earphones is amazing even when you put full game and chat volume through the headphones it copes and the sound is amazing and exactly what we have come to expect from Gioteck.

Here you can see the controls on the side of the left earpiece. and you will notice that the headphones glow blue when they are turned on. From this menu you control the volume and mute functions. All the buttons are extremely responsive and the whole build quality feels like they have really taken their time with this headset so that for mainstream and even hardcore gamers you will enjoy the headset.

As you can see the setup couldn’t be simpler, and as Steven Gurevitz you can also use the HC4 with a huge range of devices include tablets and Playstation Vita. The HC4 truly is a one stop shop for gamers and is lightweight. I have been moving the headset and have also used it on my PC for listening to music and I honestly couldn’t be happier with it.
